Default Plug or leave it?

Pulled this out of my tire and it’s not loosing pressure. I have ride on in the tire so that might be what’s sealing it. Went in at a sideways angle but seems pretty long to not go through. Debating whether to plug it but not sure if I should mess with it.

Looks like it had a nail head on it at some point and rotated causing the cuts that are circled. If it is not leaking (use soapy water to check) I would leave it alone as plugging it may damage the tire cords. Maybe see if you can work some Hi yemp RTV silicone into the hole to prevent road grime/sand/small stones from getting into it.

If you pulled it and it's not losing pressure, you still have a weak point in the tire.
If RIDE ON is keeping the pressure, do you trust it?
I'd plug!
That way you have a physical barrier and not a gooey one.
The tire also looks like it might be cupped.
Time for a new one.......

Makes sense a nail head could have made the circle. I couldn’t figure out what was going on there. It passed the soapy water test and I am leaning towards leaving it alone. Didn’t think of sealing it up somehow. Thinking a piece of the plug rope might work.

I'd leave that one alone. The reaming tool will damage the tire worse than the nail did.

What roads and speeds were you travelling at before you found the nail?

If fast roads, I’d be grateful it never deflated get a new tyre mounted and buy a lottery ticket?

The tip of the nail is what went into the tire just enough to hold it there.
The nail head when it was there is what scratched the tire.
I'd ride it, the tread is deeper.
