Softail Brake Question
I installed new brake shoes on my 94 Heritage Classic and ever since the brake caliper itself seems to be somewhat loose. It likes to make a rattling noise. All the bolts are tight. Not sure if there is some kind of bushing that needs replaced or what. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Do you seem to have more travel in your brake lever. Sometimes pushing the pistons back in, they tend to stick and suck back in the caliper, this creates a loose condition with the pads and the pads and or caliper will rattle. You could try removing the pads and pumping the pistons out, (be very carefull you don't pump them out of their bores) and cleaning as best you can and re-assembling.

On a 94 Heritage you have an anti rattle clip. It is a flat peice of steel doubled over and holds the outboard pad in place. Either the clip is missing, it isn't installed correctly, the tab is broken off the end so it doesn't snap in place. The anti rattle clip is you problem.
