Front Wheel Scare!

I changed my front tire last week and went for a couple of rides since. Yesterday I noticed that the RH axle cap was falling off. It was retained be only one nut and had loosened up half way down the stud in the fork. The other nut was completly gone. I couldn't believe it!!
I torqued them when putting back together and checked them after the first 5mile ride. The shop manual says nothing about using loctite when reassembly, but I'm going to use it. Maybe even go to a nylon lock nut.

Any thoughts?

Blue Locktite is your best friend when it comes to Harley nuts and bolts. You did put the lockwashers back on with the nuts didn't you? Just asking.
