I know every one is partial to there 16/17/18/21"s, but has any one put a 23" front wheel on a 09 rg and did you rake the head tube, Or did you stay with the stock trail? I know how to rake it and what trees to use but I really dont want to cut up the frame. I like the 21's they handle just fine and rode many miles on them, But this time I was thinking of going bigger, I think I seen a pic of pork chop's black 09 of a profile shot with a 23" and It looked good and was wondering how it handled with the stock trail.
Oh yeh if anyone has doubt's on 21's or bigger. Let me say this about the stock 09's with a 17" wheel @ 38/42 mph take your hands off the bars watch it shake, The bike has been checked and nothing is loose or faulty but the stock trail is questionable. It has the junk 407 tires on it and would rather change wheels and tires to my liking than fight with hd over tires.
I had avons on e glide that out performed the 09 hd 407 tire, And have metzlers on a chop which are both way quieter than the hd tires.
Thanks for any info on the 23's
Kevin.
