After weeks of reading about tires I ordered and just recieved a 140/90b16 ME880.If it helps anyone it measures in the bag 130.0 wide.
Anyone have a guess what it will be when mounted on a stock 3" rim? I
was expecting (hoping) to be somewhere 140.0 or over. Was i wrong?
I have recently measured two different size rear tyres, both mounted on 3" rims. The Metzeler website might tell you their fitted width, as Avon does, but I found mine were not quite the same. My 140/90 is actually 139mm wide and the 150/80 is 153mm wide, but Avon's figures are 143mm and 150mm.
So your Metzeler will be around 140 wide when fitted, but could be +/- 3mm from that I would guess!
