Caught my buddy doing his brakes wrong.
So I stop in at a freinds house, and he is changing out his rear pads. As I walk up, he is compressing the pistons in the caliper, and fluid starts pouring out on the floor. Then I noticed the three large bolts and the two smaller pad stud bolts lying there together. The fluid was coming from the split between the two sides of the caliper because he took out the bolts that hold it together. I suggested that he get another gasket for the caliper, but he bolted it back together anyhow. We had to bleed the brakes. Seems to work for him so far, but I am just a little concerned for him. I hope that not changing out the gasket after this doesnt cause the brakes to fail. Shouldnt he have changed out the gasket? Seems to me you would have to.

I guess if it does not leak,ok to go.
I would clean the caliper with brake/parts cleaner real good after bolting it back up and keep an eye on it.
