Debating on riding this weekend or chancing it.
Two previous posts the last several weeks.
1rst one I was bragging about having 43K miles on my front tire.
Last monday I was 130 miles from home and got a large nail that punctured the the rear tube. After towing and a tube replace on my way home same day about 50 miles out took a large bolt through the tire. Somehow it lodged between the tube and sidewall. Pulled it out with vicegrips and tire did not deflate. 50 nervous miles later I was home.
Still has not deflated. Had to add 5 pound last night (4 days later) but not sure if the lost pressure was just not from checking it so much.
2 big rides this weekend and I'm real low on funds. Got rid of all my credit cards (past abuse) so can't replace until payday next week.
Anybody ever have something like this happen where an object has penetrated the tire but missed the tube? Not sure if the threads scraped the tube, therby weekening it. Damn I'm torn between riding and sitting out for a week. Weather supposed to be great on Saturday ... hmmmm
