Default Late model wheels on an '06 Bagger

So I have hunted the forum and googled everything imaginable. I need a good answer to my question. What needs to be done on a 2007 or later 25mm bearing front wheel to be run on a 2006 or older 1" bearing bike. Can I just buy a 25mm axle and swap my rotors over, or do I need to purchase a new bearing conversion kit of some sorts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am wanting to put a 2010 FLHX 18" front wheel on my 2006 FLTHCI.

I would think the forks on your 06 are made for the 1" axle. As i would believe the forks on a 07 and up are made for the 25mm axle.

Later wheels will accept bearing kits for 3/4", 1" as well as 25mm bearings. You need a bearing kit which you should be able to get from your local friendly dealer, or on-line discount dealer. You may need different axle spacers as well.

Not many members look in on this part of the forum, so you would be better visiting the Touring part. You'll find earlier posts on this and get more help in there!

talked with parts guy at a dealer in DC he put 2010 street glide wheels with 25mm bearings told me to get axle and spacers and bolt it in. I want the 18 street glide wheels myself. My question is can i put the rear wheel tire and al with the wider tire?

I assume you have an 04 Ultra! I don't think it is an easy conversion, for several reasons, although it may be possible. I recommend you take a look in the Touring forum, where there are a few threads about this. I have installed an 07 swingarm and 04 rear wheel in my old Evo, along with a 150 tyre. There may be room for a 160 tyre, but going wider will IMHO require a bit of magic!
