Default Brake Bleed vs Brake Flush

I have an 06 Deluxe. Don't know if brake fluid has ever been replaced/changed since 06.

Do I need to flush or will just bleeding them be ok?

Thanks

They are much the same, flushing being bleeding until fresh fluid comes through. If you have a bike that is new to you flushing would be a wise thing to do.

If it uses DOT5, the factory fluid is a blue/violet colour when new, but turns a pale yellow as it gets old, eventually turning plain dirty! If it is yellow or worse, flushing is definitely the right thing to do!

The brake oils is pretty cheap. Just flush the thing out

Bleeding generally means getting any air out of the system and could mean just a couple pumps of the brakes.

Flushing means pushing fresh fluid through the whole system to ensure all the old fluid is replaced with fresh.

Flushing the system every two years is part of the maintenance schedule on my bike.

The older the brake fluid is, the more condensation can accumulate. Flush the system. It's easy and cheap maintenance.
