I need to get a new rear tire and was wondering what you guys have had good luck with. Right now it has metzler 880 front and rear. Right now I need to replace the rear one the size is 150/70b18 my question is should i stick with the same or go to Avon. Its on an 07 street glide. I'm trying to find a all around good tire and to be able to get some mileage out of it. Thanks.

Are you sure you have an 18" rear? If so you may find the choice of tyres is limited. I say that because Harleys normally use heavy duty 16" tyres which tend to give better mileages. Avon make that size, but it only has a load rating of 70, instead of 74 or 77, which is what our Glides normally use.
I'm a great fan of Avon tyres, because they give a great ride, as well as excellent grip in all weathers, but they don't give the mileage of stock Dunlops and may not be any better than Metzelers.

I'm sure about the 18' s I have pm wheels on mine. I thought about Avon. Had that on my chopper but I didn't put many miles on that bike. Was just wondering if anybody had any pros or cons between Avon and metzler.
