Looking for info on rear brake pads for a FXSTD Deuce ? The SM says they have a slot cut in the pad and to check parts catalog for specific replacement parts, do not use the front pads ( the other softails use the same pads front and rear)
The PM has a separate part # thats different from all the other softails. J&P seems to have the common (except FXSTD ) for all there after market rear pads I've seen.
I'm looking for aftermarket pads that will work or am I stuck with the HD replacements ?
The Deuce runs the same 4 piston as all the other bikes b/w '00 and '07, I believe. I have purchased both "slotted" and solid pads in the past. There's no difference between them, IMO.
EDIT: I just checked Ronnie's microfische and used an '06 Deuce in the search. It lists the same pad numbers both front and rear.
44082-00 ( So they are the same all the way back to 2000.)

Huh , my 01 parts manual lists the rears as 44442-00 and all the other models as 44082-00 , the FXSTD has a model destination in the parts catalog as BS / JB for FXSTD /FXSTDI I have the latter 2001 vintage.
It also lists calipers as 44016-00 for other models , and 44441-00 for the BS/ JB models. Of course it's just one assembly diagram with out separate views of the differences.
EDIT : The fronts are the same as all the other softails , the same 44082-00 #
I'm pulling the rear wheel to put a new tire on so thought I'd replace them while it's apart ..... may just get a set like I put on the front and see if they work or not.

That's a great idea...( It doesn't make sense that there would be one special caliper for the Deuce rear to me.)
I went to J&P the other day and spent a good 45min at the counter researching what pads would work , there conclusion was it's a OEM only part On my way outa the parking lot called my local dealer and gave him the 44442-00 # . . . .. the guy tells me that number has been revised / replaced with 44082-00 , by this time I'm rollin down the hwy , had to turn around to go back to J&P and get the same pads I put on the front ..... you know the 44082-00 compatible # , what a PIA , guess I should of called the dealer 1st , live and learn.
So yes they are the same as the front pads, the ones the moco SM says NOT to use on the rear. Got them installed and they fit and work just fine.
