Sorry my first post upsets some of you I do have an axe to grind. Right is right wrong is wrong. P.M. needs to tell you there wheel has a ten year life span and it needs to be clearly marked on the wheel if I you have them on your bike you might want to do some math. Someone asked if it was a mag or lace it was a mag can't send you guys a picture cause I'm a new member. P.M. did offer me a discount I'm not sure I want their product in 500 feet of my bike I might go back to factory parts then I can just check the spokeswhen I clean the wheels. Brearing are fine and cound be reused if wantedthis rim split down the center and the right side moved tou over 2 1/4''.I'm told these wheels came on buells I know am seeing them on a lot of rice bikes. Again sorry about we can talk of other things later I was thinking you guys would have my back right up to seeing sponsored by
Thank you perki48 That's what I said trust me I gave them an earful. I'm just glad I do not have that wheel on the front of my bike I would be dead for sure. Think about this yes it's an older wheel how many of you guys keep your bikes for over ten years? How many bikes since this wheel was made just went off the road the riders end up dead and the bikes beat up from gard rails ect and they think thewheel broke on impact. I started riding in 82 moved to Florida lets just say I have a few miles under my belt never seen any thing like this. Thanks for helping me get this off my chest
Mike, if you spend any time in here you will notice that many first time posters have a problem they want help with, but occasionally someone like yourself comes on here with an out-pouring. You didn't buy those wheels new, from what I can make out, and don't know their history or what misuse they may have suffered, yet reckon that the fact that PM are a sponsor we should - do what?!
Take a deep breath old chap and count to ten! We can help with difficult problems, but there is nothing we can directly help with here and I very much doubt if members who are happy customers of PM will be interested or impressed with what you have said.
If you take a look at their website, as I have just have, they have been in business for 40 years. They are not about to buckle under the weight of your problem, but have made you an offer to help you out. Read my earlier post about that! Take some time to reflect on your misfortune, then look forward and work out a plan to get yourself back on the road. We can certainly help you with that!
Mike; appreciate the post and warning...any time there's "safety" issues with m/c (bike or parts) it's always good to network. Be curious to see pics of you rim, but understand the lacking posts prevent images. Maybe you can contact the mods to get these pics in the wheel/tire section on a sticky.
Either way, glad you see you here and still around for more miles. Keep us posted on your rim replacement status.
Unfortunately this comes down to one fact, if this wheel was designed and sold for a Buell then modified or put on a heaver bike then there is no implied warranty.
End of story.
If it was offered for heavies then that is a whole different story.
As per GRBrown I'm think'n you don't have much of a case if you bought them used and put'm on a bike they were not designed for. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and get on with your life.

Hy guys having problems with internet. I want to address a few things.First the wheel on my bike was for a softail it is buell like or looks like the one a buell s3 and is made the same way. Found one some of them on e-bay.Some one said the it's the weight of my bike hellow it's a softail it only has a small tool bag that you can fit a soda in. If some one would like to send me an e-mail at fester861@aol.com I'll send you pictures put something on the subject line like wheel fail.
A Softail weighs in a bit over 700 pounds. An S3, a bit over 500 pounds....
that's quite a bit of difference....
Had those beautiful PM wheels on my S3, never heard of a failure. Mine was older when I bought it and checked it out well before use, and quite often took her up over 140 mph..........
search badweatherriders.com (a Buell site), I found some threads about possible premature bearing failure in PM Buell wheel. Perhaps that caused the failure? I think if I retrofitted an older wheel on my bike, I'd r&r the bearings just to be sure. NSK makes good quality bearings for those wheels, but I am not sure if I'd use them (the wheels) on a heavier bike.
