Hey all .. im looking into getting new tires and rims for my 2011 fatboy and have a question .. please excuse me as this is my 1st bike and rim swap out
1) my rims are 17 x 6 ( rear ) i see they have 18 x 5.5 ... how do i make up the additional .5 inches ?
2) what all do i need to swap out ? do I need to pulley and rotors etc ? or just the rim and tire ?
1. The 'new' size you mention will require a different size tyre, both in diameter and possibly width, to keep rolling diameter similar.
2. If you buy wheels intended for a Harley the rotor and pulley will swap over, although you may need new bearings.
3. HDF has sponsors who can supply wheels, such as Hogpro, who can give you detailed advice on wheels and suitable tyres.
