It was a nice day for a ride today. It was in the upper 60's and fairly sunny. I rode up to Sacramento to visit my neighbor who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. She is on full life support and it was awful to see her in that condition. On the ride back, I kept thinking about how she and her husband were instrumentalwhen I was thinking about purchasing a bike.
Cindy is a long time passenger who remembers sitting on tiny pee pads years ago. She has had the same leather jacket for years and won't part with it, even though the zipper broke long ago. Her husband bought his Heritage a couple of years ago and they always were telling me about their rides and their membership in the localHOG chapter. When I finally bought my bike and rode up to their house, I think Cindy was moreexcited than I was. I've enjoyed many rides with them since, sadly to say,Ididn't enjoy this one today as much.
Even with some of the bickering that goes on here, I think of you folksas my extended Harley family. Give your significant other a big hug and a kiss tonight and tell them how much you love them. You never know what lies around the corner, as my good friend has found out.
