rearended last night.
multiple dui's, no ins, no lic, no reg, fled the scene. never slowed down. after his initial attempt to stop before impact, he got back on the gas weaving back and forth trying to dislodge the bike from his car, when he finally spun me and the bike off into the other lane, he fled, again at a high rate of speed. when the law found him, he was at home, in bed, asleep.
I should not be here. I shouldn't be alive. I stopped approx 250 ft from point of impact. the bike travelled about 300 ft.
Miracles do happen. I got up and ran out of the road when I stopped sliding. I helped drag my own bike out of the road as well, much to the protest of bystanders, who were mainly just getting on my nerves.
I have some road burn, whiplash (severe) broken left hand, disloc right shoulder, 3 inch lac over left eye which took both inner and outer stitches. Lost quite a bit of skin and blood,
The ACC helmet took an incredible blow at my left temple. it is cracked, not broken. I am convinced it saved my life.
I was wearing full leathers, or I would have lost a lot mote skin than I did.
I have multiple bruises, basically I am just one big bruise. It is very difficult to move.
As if the bike weren't in bad enough shape to begin with, we were on the blind side of a hill, and an eighteen wheeler ran over it, seconds after I got myself out of the road.
I am going to take a severe financial beating out of this. Just doesn't seem right somehow.
The accident was 100% unavoidable on my part. He was just moving too fast.
all grammer and spelling is off bets. I'm on hydro's, typing with one eye and one fingr=er, and too tired to care.
Get on the mend. Hope you're insides didn't turn into any goo.
Happy you survived!
