Is there a floorboard lowering kit?
I have a 36" inseam and am trying desperately to figure out a way to get my knees at or below the level of the top of the gas tank. It gets kind of uncomfortable with my knees up so high and it also looks downright dorky. I have done alot of research on the internet and found accutronix forward controls but I really dont want to lose the crashbars or my highway pegs. I saw the jaybrake forward controls but they just don't look like they are lower than the floorboards but i canttell from pics. I realize that lowering the floorboards will decrease my lean angle but this bike is more of a tourer for my wife and I. If I want to get crazy I have a BMW K1200S for that. I would appreciate any advice that I get. Thanks in advance. Harry

I was going toget the floorboard lowering kit and bars.I waited till I fitted the Corbin tourer seat. The seat moved me back 2 inches now the boards and bars are just right
Lowering the board would be great if you only rode in a straight line and didn't lean it over any cornering. They scrape from the factory and lowering them would cause a scraping problem.
although I ride a FatBoy, I encountered the same dilemma. not enough leg room for longer legs. I followed the advice of another SoftTail rider - Sonar_Chris for this fix.
I installed the Extended Reach Floorboards, HD # 50409-04, Harley Goodies (a HDF sponsor) Floorboard Extension Kit, Kuryakyn Extended Girder Shift Lever # 1026 and Kuryakyn E-ZBillet Sytle Brake pedal. the extended reach floorboards moves the floorboards about 2 inches more forward than stock, and the Harley Goodies Extensions moves them out, away from the bike, about 1 1/4 inch. this coupled with the shifter lever, which moved the shifter pad forward about 1 3/4 inch and the extended brake pedal, which moved the brake pad forward about 2 inches and down about 2 inches. oh, and I moved the shifter lever to the outboard location of the shifter spline and used a 3/4 inch schedule 80 PVC piece to cover that gap left by removing theheel shifter.
all of this set me back about $400., but was WELL worth it.
here are several photos I just took - sorry about the quality. I shot these in the garage... a little too cool to go outside for this.

I think that if you wanted the crashbar you could get it to work with the forward controls. You need to take it off because the controls utilize the mounting hole for the crashbar on the brake side.
My suggestion: to give you optimal leg comfort and feel like the bike actually fits you, to have your legs in a comfortable position, to use an existing bolt on product, and to keep your crash bar on the bike....I would purchase some of these jac-knife pegs

This is similar to what i made for myself and used 90% of my time on the bike before i got the forward controls. Last i knew a member here by the name of SHOOTER64 had them for sale....see this post. Great guy to deal with and decent prices and fast shipping.
Something similar is the kw stretchers...a good post with pictures is here.

gor for the set back seat that is raised 2 inches, that will give you 4 inches overall and the floorboards will not bottom out from lowering on every turn...
Hey Harry.B,
Theses don't lower but rather move you forward. Moving your foot forward will help lower your knees. Worth a look see anyway.
