I have the quick detach weenie shield. It is on an off the bike in about 10 seconds, and leaves behind no mounting hardware. It's around $275 retail, but look on ebay.
In a cross wind it will whip ya around quitebit on the interstate. I only use mine for long interstate rides, and then when it's cold. Best thing I can say about it, is it can be removed QUICKLY.
the Harley detachable is the nicest on the market it takes only seconds to take off with no brackets left behind. I have no problem with the wind blowing mw around
I'm shopping around for a windshield, too, for my 2005 XL 1200C. I went for a long local ride on Sunday when it was 75 degrees out but it was a prettywindy. I thought my head was going to snap off. So a quick release windshield is in order. I like the one that Tom071200C linked to but it seems a little pricey to me. Ebay does have somemuch morereasonable prices but I'm a little unsure as to how to get one that1) is not all scratched up (minor scratches can be buffed out)and 2) will for sure fit my bike. I've gotten burned ebay before. So I'll be watching this thread with interest and I'llpass on what I find out, too.

Recommend this one also.Off and on real easily. Built a bracket to put on the wall when I'm not using it.
Be careful trying to buff these windshields. I would look for one that is in A-1 condition or just replace the plastic if you get a good deal on a scratched one. I tried buffing mine and it didn't turn out so good. Check out memphis shades for a windshield also. The plastic is the same but they have different mounting systems. And they are a little cheaper if you don't want to go H-D.
I use this HD detachable shield. I never had a problem with the wind or anything. Once you put it on you'll love it. On and Off in less than a minute. This is the short style witha light smoke tint. Get the one that clamps to the forks.My.02. Watch Ebay. Nasty
