Leak from stator wire grommet

Leak from stator wire grommet
My '00 Road King has a small oil leak around the grommet for the stator wires, front left of engine. \\; Any ideas on how to stop this leak? \\; I think that that grommet is part of the wire assembly but I'm not sure.

Also found out that because of oil leaking on these wires the plug connection can short out under the right footboard area. There is a service bulletin (M-1107 dated 2/20/01) to relocate this plug so oil cant seep into it.

Open the primary &\\; seal the hole around the plug with silicone sealant. \\; Or, do away with the plugs all together. \\; Hard wire the regulator to the stator &\\; fill the hole with sealant. \\; I've done both, &\\; hardwiring eliminates shorting in the plug.

if you seal the grommet make sure you use an rtv sealant or it will leak, and wait 24 hrs for it to cure otherwise it will leak. The best sealant out there is called the right stuff.
