Single vehicle. As the cars in front of me cleared the corner, I saw that there was a big patch of gravel in the middle of the road. Did not have time to avoid it. Just barely time to say "Oh ****!". Bike went one way, I went the other and took out the road sign with my left side. Busted 5 ribs in 9 places, banged up my spleen and kidney, punctured and collapsed a lung. Lots of road rash on arms and top of head. Four days in intensive care, week total in hospital. Out of work for 12 weeks. Oh yeah, and I totaled out a 3 week old 2007 EG Classic with 1000 miles on it.
I think just about everything but another Bike (not including Motorcross lol) even fell asleep once and went off the road into the woods and saved it that time.
July 19th this year. Single, just me and the wife. Dragon Tail from Tennessee side. Ultra is a shriners edition has (had , its in the landfill now) a parade stand. Parade stand which I now realize hangs down low under the frame and becomes the lowest point on the scooter caught the pavement in a very sharp 150* corner, back wheel lifted and lost traction and down we went. All we heard was the scrape and then we were waking up. Me broken ribs, concussion, compression fracture L1 vertebra, major road rash, Wife out cold for several minutes ( I thought she was dead, scared me very, very bad. I was terrified ), bruised ribs, broken left arm and really, really upset with me. Doctor at hospital said she could have been worst except for the fact I was her airbag. When I get bike back together I am not sure I will let her set behind me, now realize that is a lot of responsibility.

Drunk turned left in front of me. I never had a chance to do all those cool braking things some of the guys on here think you can do when you are barreling at 50mph into the side of a Pontiac.

Just me. Nice Saturday afternoon ride to watch my daughter's softball game a few miles from home. Glanced to my right as I passed a friends house, looked back up to see someone stopped in front of me turning into a repair shop that was closed for the day. I managed to miss him went down anyway. Took 16 staples, 7 screws, and a two piece interlocking plate to put my elbow back where it had been before I went down.
