BUILDUP: A 1986 Harley-Davidson Family Project

When it comes to garage projects, they are rarely an independent affair. In fact, projects are better completedĀ as a family.

After all, it’s not that easy to safely jack-up a Harley and get to work on your own, and it’s definitely not as much fun! Let’s be honest, we all need someone to give a second (unwanted) opinion, or an extra push when the damn bolt just won’t turn! Projects are typically far fromĀ simple when it comes to two or four-wheeled rides.

HDForums member Mickey, who is also known by his username Glyder54, has recently taken on a project alongside his nephew. Well, to be fair, the project is actually his nephew’s, and he has decided to help see it to fruition. The bike is a Harley-Davidson from 1986, and by the looks of it, it’s in need of some serious TLC. According to Mickey, every piece of glass and sheet metal is scratched, gouged, cracked, or otherwise broken. Strangely enough, it actually runs and shifts pretty well.

We’re sure it’ll make a wonderful winter project and we can’t wait to see it when it’s done!
