Kali Kruiser Isn’t Your Average Beach Bike
Badass Harley-Davidson bike is a beach cruiser on steroids.
If you’re into custom bikes, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Jesse Rooke. Rooke constructed his first creation back in 2002, a slick and unique ride named “Dinah.” Since then, his creative and innovative builds have graced the covers of multiple magazines. All of them carry similarly clean and simple design characteristics, yet the overall look is like nothing else out there.
So when we saw a build based on one of Rooke’s creations, the “Kali Kruiser,” pop up on the Hemmings car auction site, we had to pass it along. Designed to mimic the look of a classic beach cruiser, the Kali Kruiser shines in Royal Blue over Oriental Blue candy. After purchasing the Rooke frame, Dana Twidwell at DNA Customz Incorporated took over and turned the ride into an instant classic.
Unlike a pedal powered beach cruiser, this one uses a Patrick Racing 101 inch engine for motivation. The lump has been treated to a laundry list of performance parts. They include a Crane FireBall ignition and a host of Jim’s parts including the oil pump, pushrod tubes, and roller rockers. And the right side mounted 6-speed transmission uses a PM hydraulic clutch slave assembly with PM hydraulic clutch hand controls.
And of course, everything that isn’t covered in multiple layers of flaked blue paint is coated in chrome. You’d be hard pressed to find anything more beautiful and unique than this custom creation. At least one that isn’t built by one Jesse Rooke.
