Roar to the Shore

Ticket to Paradise: New Jersey event kicks off its 21st year with Eddie Money headlining first-ever ‘Rock and Roar’ concert.

For 20 years, thousands of bikers have flocked to the beachfront community of Wilwood, New Jersey, for the raucous Roar to the Shore. The one-of-a-kind rally literally takes over the entire town for a few days, this year September 7-10. And aside from the beautiful scenery, there are essentially two things that attract huge crowds to the event. For one, it’s free. Secondly, Wilwood is 150 miles or less from most major East Coast cities.

But for the rally’s 21st year, there’s now a third reason to attend Roar to the Shore. And that reason is the brand new Rock and Roar concert.

Headlining the inaugural event is the one and only Eddie Money, a guy who’s only sold a little over 20 million records in his career. FoghatMichael Ullman, and local New Jersey band Deadfish Handshake finish out the lineup.

“We’ve been working on this [concert event] for a while…trying to come up with something that would make this a better venue,” Alan Nau, one of the producers with Dune Concerts, tells South Jersey News. “And we did. We are very proud to say that we came up with something that’s gonna be good not only for this town but for the whole weekend.”

Roar to the Shore

Roar to the Shore has always been a can’t-miss event featuring scenic road trips, tons of vendors, and loads of special events, including motorcycle stunt shows. Really, all it needed was a little infusion of some good tunes. And the addition of a major multi-band concert should only help what is already one of the largest East Coast rallies grow even bigger.
