Default Buying a Softail but coming here for 107 -v- 114 comments please...

Hi Touring Types!

I've ordered my first HD (Fat Boy) with the 107 M8 motor. Yes I know this is the Touring section but you guys have had the M8 for awhile so I'm thinking who better to ask the following...

I am beginning to wonder if I should have gone for the 114 M8, so...

Has anyone here got a 107 M8 AND and 114 M8 and can let me have some back to back pro's and con's please

Many thanks

You will get more info in the m8 sub forum. Maybe the mods can move this thread over for you.

The 114 is only $2000 more.You can't upgrade the 107 to 114 for that.

Username - lol

welcome to the forum - Your first Harley? not sure what your coming off of but if you were to be able to ride without knowing the difference - Both would SCREAM - the 107 is way more than is needed on a softtail and the 114 well WTH -
I will promise you IF he $$$$$ is not an issue, you will be sorry you did not go 114 - just do it and have fun

When in doubt "Throttle Out"

More is better!

I have never heard anyone say they wish they had gon with the smaller engine option!

Go big, or go home.

If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.

There is no replacement, for displacement.

Bigger is better.

Pick one of the above, & go with 114 or 117 form the start, be happy.

Bigger is better, especially when you can afford it. You never regret buying the best.
