Installed it this afternoon and although it looks better than most guards i have seen and isnt going to fall off like the adhesive one from Kuryaken, it will still mash into my pipe if i ever hit the floor board.
Seeing as how this limited sits higher than my 08 Electra Glide and i haven't come close to hitting a floorboard, i dont think its a real concern.
I tipped mine over on that side and the result was a slightly bent heal guard that could easily be bent back into position by hand. No damage to the exhaust at all. A little expensive for such a small piece of chrome but I highly recommend the product!!
I warmed up the bike for a few minutes yesterday, took some chrome polish on one of those mesh plastic covered sponges and put some elbow grease into it. Itll come off. Not so sure id want to go at it with a razor knife though.
Not a razor knife, use a single sided razor blade with the flat thick metal part for your fingers to hold on it (you know the kind) GENTLY scrape, comes right off, NO scratches. Try it, you will see.
I like the looks, and the concept. However, after putting close to 50,000 miles on my two Road Kings, I've never once had to clean boot marks off the pipes. Ya'll must have big feet!
