Default Tour pack weight limit

How much weight to folks put on the tour pack? Don't want to break it, but the warning on the label seemed a little low....thanks...Jim

If you mean on the top rack...?

As much as the North Face bag will hold...at least 20 lbs in this photo.

Thanks!

Just a cell phone shot that we got someone to take of us at the top of Mt. Evans this past August in Colorado.

We got hailed on three times that day--all above 12,000 feet. Also, we got rained on heavily later in the day as well, and moments after that picture was taken, we had snowflakes hitting our faces!

Awesome day!

Shane

All I can add is that it will hold the weight of 2 twelve packs and my wife's make-up with no problem

Can I ask about the water bottle clip on your left saddle bag guard? I need one of those.
Thanx,
Paul

Absolutely!

Click the link to see one example...

There are many available brands online, they all seem to be very similar in design and construction, at least from the pictures.

We turned the clamp 90 degrees from the as-delivered orientation, so that the clamp goes on the vertical post, not the horizontal one above.

A strip of inner tube also helps to make the clamp rock solid and protect the finish. The clamp material is very hard, and can slide on the chrome, no matter how hard you tighten the clamp without some rubber in-between.

There's also one on the other side... ;-)

All the best,

Shane

Rated weight limit is 10lbs.

I can vouch it will hold more than that...

But.

Be careful, spider cracks can and will happen to your paint around the mounts if you go too heavy.

I've had over 30lbs on mine with no issues, probably more than 40.

There is a booklet that came with the bike when you bought it. Maybe you should read it again.

Go ahead and overload it, I might see another thread saying that your tourpak broke.
