do the current radio update (even if you think its updated I would check your version versus the Harley site number) the WB thing is coming up for a lot of guys and im hoping they come out with another update for that issue. on my iPhone I use the Bluetooth for streaming music and phone stuff (altho I don't use the headset so the phone is ony to see who is calling then hangup to call later) so unless you are wanting to charge your phone I would do it that way for now. paul
I did do the update, so maybe I will try it again just to see if it's a bug. I use the BT when it isn't working right, but I like to be able to select a new artist or playlist without having to stop. That's a pain. I use my headset because I found out, and not sure if you have tried, but everyone I talk to says that even at 70mph on the freeway, they can't tell I am on the bike. Daddy gets to take his business calls from the road. Plus, I do like to have my phone charged when I am done with a ride, instead of drained. It's really not that big of a deal, after a while, I can always get the thing to work, just a pain if you don't do it in the right order. Connect phone, turn on bike. Anything else requires me to fully turn off the bike for a few, reboot my phone, try again, and presto, it works. Using that combo only though.
Then my stupid *** has to remember to get my phone out of the compartment too. Too many times I am away from my bike for a while and realize that I left the phone in there. Would be cool if you could add a small lock to it just in case.
Had an I-phone and know a Samsung, no issues with connecting ether phone to the bike. And further more no phone has dropped out of blue tooth once linked.
The good news, none of this is with BT. The bad news is, that doesn't allow me to change playlists, artists, etc. without stopping. Not a show stopper, and as I said, still the nicest friggin vehicle I have ever owned. Just looking to clean up the kinks. Does anyone know if HD has a comment or suggestion site for Infotainment users to provide updates feedback? That would be cool. I would submit for that.
Only issue I've run across is when playing Pandora, once in a while it will just stop playing, if I press the handlebar button to advance to next song, it will come out of Pandora and go to my iTunes playlist instead, so I'd have to pull over to get Pandora back on playing. Otherwise I've not had any issues at all that I've read about. Not sure if I have the most recent update for the system even yet, since it's put away for winter I wont even bother with that till next spring.
ETA- This is both plugged into USB and or bluetooth that it's happened.
Do a search for something called "twist-something" and itunes conversion to android. That may make it less painful to avoid the closed iOS that you can't control.
There are a lot of threads about the problems with certain iphones around. Do more of a search and you might find some ideas.
Sorry, I have an android and it syncs quit well. I used to have an older android when I bought my bike. It had problems. It was also already like 4-5 years old, so it was time to upgrade it. I know this doesn't help you any though.
It's called "Double Twist", and it works pretty good. Used it for a few years now. It must have been free, too, because I rarely cough up coin for anything like that...
