OK all, I'm stumped. I bought the 2015 service manual for the Ultra Limited but I can't find a diagram on this.
I'm want to add a couple of items hardwired to an keyed power source inside the fairing. Specifically I'm hard wiring a dashcam and may add my Zumo. On my 2001 Road King I bought an adapter and tapped the wiring harness under the seat.
Can anyone point me to the wiring diagram within the fairing? I found online references to older models and a pair of switched wires that could be used. Nothing comes up for the 2015.
I think the '15's still have the extra wires on the end of the headlight harness. I tapped those on my '11 with simple 1/4" spade connectors, it was very easy.
There is one free aux power connector inside the fairing (at least in 2015 Street glide HDI model). Looking from front of the bike it is in top of the left side of the radio.
Harley also sells an ignition switch controlled auxiliary harness with 2 switches that plugs into the stock harness. The switches mount in the dash right next to the driving light switch.
I picked up the switches... the harness you plug into to get to power from either switch though is under the cover with all the fuses under the seat on the left side of the bike.. nothing up in the fairing unless you run your own wires up and in...

Yep, and for another $20 you can get a splitter at the dealership. My amp and garage door opener both plug in there.
After the dealer sold me the splitter and other auxiliary wiring adapter I dug into the fairing. Only then did I find that the parts they sold me were for the area under the seat/fuse area.
I found the square auxiliary plug under the fairing and took the blank plug to the dealer. They sold me another plug and the pins. Less than $5. I was able to crimp the pins and access the power plug.
Thanks for all the tips.

Was this the gray colored connector on top of the radio that has a cap over it?

I think he is refering to a small, black, 2pin plug on the left hand side (clutch), near the radio. It is meant to be for the hidden, powered antenna, but works for other (no high current) stuff.
There is a black, 4 pin connector, that's the output for the rear speakers, a big gray, multi pin connector for the CB connector.
Another option would be to simply tap into the cig lighter wires. They can be seen through the hole in the right side speaker enclosure.
Look at the picture
I hope that helps.
Thank you

Yes, I used the small black 2 pin plug on the brake side of the fairing. Now that I see the comment "no high current stuff" I hope my Garmin doesn't draw too much current.
On my radio there are two large plugs clipped on top. The black 12 pin connects to the CB module and I tapped into 3 wires there for the auxiliary audio input. I bought the HD auxiliary input adapter and it's plug and play IF you do not have a CB. Otherwise you have to extract the 3 wires and insert them into the connection. The second large plug is greyish and according to the service manual is "P&A Audio". No clue what that is but I do know the HD Auxiliary adapter does not plug into it even though the instruction sheet says it does!
I do want to add at least a dash cam somewhere. So at some time I will need to run more power into the fairing or tap into the "cig lighter" wires.
