While I agree with you in regards to the fact that you are communicating with the 2nd Sena that is plugged into the harness, My point was that you can give voice commands wirelessly to the Boom Audio 6.5. (no wires running from your helmet to the module) This is indeed what many Folks are looking for. It sounds as though HD will be providing a similar system soon. There is a complete thread on 2 different Guys that have been playing with this for some time. If a person does not mind being hard wired in, Great. If a person does not want to be hard wired in, Then this would be their solution. Wireless was my point. Thanks, Grant.
Hardly a "wireless" solution when you need to add a wired adapter to a Sena unit, then interface that Sena unit to another Sena headset. Even then, you only get a mono connection unless you add another Sena unit?

Doing all that, just to get a marginalized connection & functionality? Doesn't sound like we have many readers that have actually done this. And from other reports, following those directions won't let you use voice commands because they're using the passenger connection & the voice commands only work using the rider connection?

Uh, maybe I'll just pass & stay wired.

It would be nice to see more info on that screen since it is easy to activate and has ability to show nice large font. I guess I'm scratching my head about how all the other functions are activated by the joysticks on each side and the random toggle seems out of place with the rest of the system controls. So it's there, we have it, so how about giving it some more capability?
I agree with your basic intent, but they're having enough trouble getting what's already there working correctly.
I'm watching the threads wondering if .3 will cause more problems then it fixes, but so far it seems pretty good.

But it is a wireless solution as there is not a wire between the rider and the bike.
With your logic, even if it was HD stuff, it wouldn't be wireless because of the wires in the radio, fairing and under the tank.
You only need the SMH10 or the SR10 for stereo, not both.
Most people wouldn't hear the difference between stereo and mono anyways. My understanding is the voice command DO work with this setup. I think I've seen one or two threads that early adopters were trying something different and couldn't get VC to work.
What makes you think it is a marginalized connection & functionality

I have no skin in the game and don't plan to order one. For me, I don't need voice commands and the few times I wear a helmet, I don't mind the little coiled wire from the headset to the bike.

Did the update this morning and as everyone has said, it looks like they fixed the major issues. My iPod (new Nano) still won't be recognized by the single "Favorite" button on the faceplate. It programs fine and works up until the time I shut the bike down, but after a restart the button does nothing and the iPod won't work even after selecting media the long way until I reprogram that button to another source such as FM. I think it's an iPod compatibility thing and my bet is a USB flash drive will work just fine.

Has anyone found any defects yet?

The XM Weather zoom only zooms in 3 levels down past full zoom. I loaded 1.17.4 this afternoon and tested it to see how far it goes. It goes down 4 levels. Technically the 1.18.3 Weather map zoom works, just not as good as it could.

Next time I'm at the dealer I'll see how to register a software enhancement request.

Yes, this is how mine works too. It's a shame that they changed it. I wonder if it's a HD thing or if it's XM.

I asked the dealership to install 1.18.3 today while I was out there. They didn't know about it.

I will have the Sena mounted on/in my bike in the next few weeks except it will be patched into the riders port not the passengers.

Mono, who cares I'm only using it for Phone/GPS/CB/Voice commands... I bought a motorcycle with a sound system to utilize the bikes speakers for music, not the speakers in my helmet. Everything but the radio are all mono anyway...

After you updated with 1.18.3 did you happen to notice if it affected your CB in any way?

Spent the day on the bike after doing the update last night. May be my imagination, but FM reception seemed better, but may have just been good conditions for it. GPS defiantly doing better. Still not near as good as my cheap Garmin in the car, but zoom and labels much improved. Speed volume control about the same as far as I can tell. Thing decided to forget how to Bluetooth. Had to unpair my phone, turn off Bluetooth on bike and phone, and start over to get them talking to each other again. Can't comment on CB as I have not had a chance to use it. Intercom is different. Can not hear own voice through headset when using it. Only way to know if working is to watch icon on dash.
