The Sena on the headset connects via intercom mode to their harness which is connected in line from the tour pack. This also requires you to buy another Sena module to connect into the harness. Once the headset module is connected to the harness module your microphone and speakers are passed through.

Bottom line, it's intercom from headset to harness and hardwired from harness into the bike.

Has anyone else have a problem with the CB PTT with new update. I don't want to do it if it is a universal problem.

Thanks. Worked fine. Whole thing took <10 minutes.

(Quote: The problem is that at this time the Boom system does not have the firmware to support Bluetooth headsets, only streaming ?? INTO the Boom system.)

While I agree with you in regards to the fact that you are communicating with the 2nd Sena that is plugged into the harness, My point was that you can give voice commands wirelessly to the Boom Audio 6.5. (no wires running from your helmet to the module) This is indeed what many Folks are looking for. It sounds as though HD will be providing a similar system soon. There is a complete thread on 2 different Guys that have been playing with this for some time. If a person does not mind being hard wired in, Great. If a person does not want to be hard wired in, Then this would be their solution. Wireless was my point. Thanks, Grant.

Does the Vehicle Status screen activated by the right side toggle provide any additional information now? I keep thinking the toggle and resultant screen is a placeholder for more info at an update in the future. How about:

water temp
range to empty
MPH
time
??

It would be nice to see more info on that screen since it is easy to activate and has ability to show nice large font. I guess I'm scratching my head about how all the other functions are activated by the joysticks on each side and the random toggle seems out of place with the rest of the system controls. So it's there, we have it, so how about giving it some more capability?

While that system may work and provide wireless connection from helmet to HD system, it seems kludgy to me, especially if you want stereo music.

This should make it obvious that what I've been saying all along about Bluetooth not currently supporting a "wireless mic" profile. Until the Bluetooth spec is changed to add a "wireless mic" (or whatever you want to call it) profile, this multiple hardware/cabling kludge will be the only way to implement this.

I suppose H-D could build a proprietary wireless system but it probably would be just that "proprietary" and not be able to work with standard Bluetooth helmet headsets.

Hook up a wire and be done with it.

Mine does the same thing occasionally with the USB drive (especially if the USB is cold and the radio has been shutdown awhile). Sometimes when I have been listening to songs from a playlist and I shut the bike off, the next time I start it up the radio starts playing all the songs on the USB again instead of just the ones on the playlist.
You're probably right, but it's frustrating because my car handles this issue with no problems. Yes, it takes a few moments to reestablish the stream but it's just a brief waiting game vs. manually keying through the process. In my uneducated opinion, HD simply needs to increase the "search" time before it jumps to radio, or eliminate the jump to radio altogether, and allow the user to manually switch to the source of their choice.

These truly are all "first world problems".

OK, never mind I found it... I had to put the media settings to "seek."
