That is an idea I've never even considered. May have to try that. Gonna check with some friends and see if they have one to try.....

I'm thinking a dual SMH10 kit, and a SHOEI GT-Air, or possibly a SHOEI RF 1200.... but don't know if I need/want what the SM10 has to offer.

Yes, you can pair them with the head unit of a 2014/2015, you will need two parts to do so. I have been told they will pair to the head units and work but I have never tried it. If it does not the solution is linked below.

Yes, but you still need the adapter that plugs in to the passenger plug and limitations of single intercom. that's what this thread is about:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...t-headset.html

This is the one for the SMH, but they make one for the SM10 as well. http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail....E-SNA-HD-SMH10

I've read that thread, and there is some great information there.

Just enough where I'm confused.....

I reckon I need someone to talk me through it.

So you are saying you need to plug into the passenger port as well in order for the Rider-2-Passenger intercom function to work?

I think, and is only a think as I didn't have the third Sena to try this.... You would set up a three-way intercom between you, the bike Sena and your passenger using the Sena and not the bike intercom. I posted a link above where a guy used a harness in the fairing to hook up a headset. As best I can tell, guys have used this up to 70 mph without any problems. I wonder if you could use that same harness for the extra Sena instead of the passenger port.

I'm really not the right guy to lay out exactly how it works as I just didn't play around with it that much. It could be that I have a Limited and I remember there being something about this working on a SG.

I'd post over on that thread and see what they say.

ETA: If you are asking if you have to use the passenger plug, yes, you do have to use that plug for their system to work.

I'd offer but I don't think I would be a great deal of help. Feel free to pm me your number and I'll call you though.

I believe that the two viable options for us are to wait for HD to update the the software or come up with their own bluetooth or go the route of using that extra connector in the fairing and adding a wired headset. I know on my 15, that connector is there in the fairing.

When that HD cable gets here this week, I plan to hook it all back up and see if I can make it work better. I'm not sure how it would work if your wife rides with you and want her to be part of the Sena hookup.

You can borrow my g9x and see if it works for you. I'm assuming all the extra integration is a nice to have and not required or you'd have kept the headset to start with

For answering phones the g9x has been good for me, I don't know about two phones though but you're welcome to play with it.
