'14 SGS has just started hesitating for lack of a better word between 2600-2100 RPM in 2nd and 3rd gears. The bike basically bucks and won't accelerate.
Shop ran it and said it only hesitated once.
I tried new tank of gas, they tried checking for an intake air leak, fuel pressure, even updated the engine mapping and did a dyno run to fine tune the map. But as soon as I picked it up it bucked again, and almost stalled out on a low speed turn. Fortunately the service tech road it right after me and the bike did the same thing!
I need to follow this. Mine has decel pop and nearly dumped me when it decided to stall in stop and turn.
Mine has had the decel pop since i bought it - oh and it was stage 1'd and dyno'd when I picked it up. But that has gotten progressively worse over the last year and a half.
I'll update when and if a fix is found (short of letting it lug and pop until something breaks)
Yep! started out as a first thing in the morning thing, then progressed a bit, but predominately is a first ride of the day thing. That said the "engine specialist" checked for that and found nothing.
Only thing is, it's getting worse. Used to barely last a block, but when i finally took it in it lasted for miles.
Funny thing, my sporty was the opposite, intake leak only when hot. Quick to fix but annoying.
Turns out, without any codes popping up the MAP and exhaust temp sensors were bad. Once they were replaced poof all hesitation and issues were gone.
Also turns out the thumping noise I was hearing when hitting bumps was the stearing head bearings being waay too loose. Guess that's something the 20k mile service doesn't do?
Ah well bike is good again! off to get milkshakes in the Redlands!
