Default Cruising AFR
What is the perfect AFR for cruising at highway speeds? Best for cool running and fuel milage?

It's complicated but usually 14.7:1 in closed loop. The richer the mixture the cooler but then less mileage. See if this helps.

I have my cruise RPMs set at 14.0 for extra cooling and I get about 40mpg.

No reason not to be in closed loop.
~ .980 lambda is what I run.

My 2015 flhtk never got over 35 miles/gallon. Even all stock.

14.6 in AFR or you are no longer in Closed LOOP. (no automatic adjustments by ECM) Run 14.6 in cruising mode for best burn. Enrichen @ lower RPM and full throttle positions. Read the ECM threads to get educated.

Closed loop is between .976 and 1.012 lambda. 14.34-14.87 AFR
