Default heat deflectors

If I change out my head pipes to get rid of the cat, can I take off the funky deflectors under the seat?

Sure you can take them off anytime you like. I must like funky or at least it don't bother me.

I put those deflectors on... My kid says my SG is starting to look like the Batmobile.

The head of the rear jug is still going to be 4" away from your nutz with or without a cat in the head pipe...lol... The cat delete will remove some of the heat near your heal/cav and passengers foot area. The motor is air cooled and still going to put out mucho heat in slow moving or stopped traffic so I would leave them. I actually added them after my stage one because the bike looked so naked right at the back of the motor, you could see right through to the other side. And I wanted a good place to hide my LED lights.

I took mine off. They completely block the space behind the rear cylinder. If they were a clear acrylic I would add them but the stock plastic looks bad IMO.

^^^ I agree on this one...

When I lived in NC and rode in 16 degree weather, I would take them off to help keep the boys warm... As soon as it hit 65+, they got put back on...

I am going to paint mine to match soon. Should help. I am blacking my bike out, so they dont bother me too much, but I can understand if you like chrome, they dont look as good. Look into the chrome accents that they make for them...?
