Harley Bluetooth: AKE HC2
You get your UClear device connected then you may actually be able to help us. We are not big fans of the talk back, sidetone, hearing our own voice thing when we speak. Seems every Bluetooth setup I've used with the Harley I hear it when transmitting. Everything but CB that is. We are trying to rule it out as either a bike feature or Sena feature but we only own Sena headsets. All the Sena headsets have sidetone disabled. Would like to know if you hear it on your Uclear headset.
I tried a phone call and now see/hear what you were talking about the sidetone. I could hear myself, which made me speak slower and sound dumber than usual. Ha!
In my troubleshooting yesterday, I thought I stumbled across a Tab on the HU that said "Sidetone", now of course I can't find it. I tried holding Mute and then turning it on. I would swear I saw a "EQ" Tab as well as a "Speaker Test" and "Sidetone". Now all I see is the EQ and Speaker Test... maybe I was mistaken. I did however update to 1.19.0 on the HU yesterday at one point and possibly that removed that option. Who knows..
I will be abit disappointed if we can't work around this sidetone issue. I am still struggling with the Mono/Duplex switching. I don't think I had to switch it when I answered a call.
Now also working through a pairing issue with the Uclear and the AKE. doesn't seem to auto connect after I cycle the power on the bike.
Thanks for the input.

Sounds like the sidetone is something we are getting through the bike then. I agree that I speak slower bc of it. Crazy bc I've read on other threads guys who wanted it and asked Harley to add it. If I could confirm its there with the wired headset then I would start bugging Harley to give us the option to turn it off.
How did you wire your device for power? Based on your connection issue you described with your headset I'm guessing you did it using power source that gets power when you turn on ignition. I'm wired up the same way and about to change that. Like I said earlier in this thread mine won't pair occasionally and I have to turn it off then on again to connect properly which I'm pretty sure has something to do with how much the starter is drawing off the battery so the power isn't ideal for the Bluetooth device at startup. There are probably some power stabilizing electronics out there and AKE makes there own butbi wouldn't spend anymore.
I would recommend going with a constant 12v source and once you start your bike then start the AKE device. Also as Patrick stated, don't wire that ground wire that comes off of it. You shouldn't need it anyway bc the device is grounded through your headset cord already.

Did you notice any improvements when it was adjusted?? If so then maybe the Harley Tech could adjust then save it through the proprietary Harley connections.
CPT,
I am connected to power within the fairing. I just bought a $9 Power Expansion Y Harness. I clipped the end off of one positive side and used a butt connector. When I open it up again I'll run a line to the battery..
