Ah HA! So I'm not crazy. I knew I saw Sidetone somewhere and now it's gone.

I think I am gonna go in to the dealer on Saturday and try a flash for my Head Unit and Amp setup. I'll see what else they can monkey with while we're in there.

Let us know if they can lower the Sidetone level or get rid of it

More importantly let us know when your device is working nicely and share your setup details for others .

It works good with the Sena. The Sidetone is bareable now. Just need to get used to the levels and find the sweet spots

I headed to my dealer for the flash. I ask the Tech if I could look over his shoulder and he basically said no. He was abit put off that I asked and the fact that I didn't go the Boom Audio route.
He even asked me how much I spent on my stuff. What difference does that make....?? I asked if he saw anything to do with Sidetone then to turn it down or off completely.
So he takes it back and is done in about 15-20.minutes. The other guys at the shop said that it sounded flat or just not quite right. So I think we are headed the right direction.
How do I know for sure that he did it per the J&M instructions? I printed them off from J&M and brought in with me.
It is a different .Bin, so I know they changed something.
I take it home and uploaded the proper DSP from J&M. Sounds real good. Plenty loud could maybe use a little more bass.

As for the sidetone, still there. I have contacted Uclear and they think it might be a Uclear firmware issue. I am troubleshooting that now. MTF.

I decided to take my device off the power source I had it on and wired it to a switch pack assembly on my dash below the fairing and next to the ignition. I now start the bike then push the accessory button and the device powers on. It was nice that it would start on its own every time I started the bike but I didn't like that it would fault occasionally causing me to restart. Now it seems solid and connects every time. I guess it's time for that software update now.

When you do the update let me know if you feel the Sidetone is less. It sure seems like it on mine after the 1.19 update

In my emails with Uclear, they suggested that the firmware was the issue. So I rolled back to an older version and reconnected. It still had the sidetone with the older version.
So I got a thought.... I connected directly(Bluetooth) to the Uclear with the phone. Basically taking the bike out of the loop. No sidetone.
It has to be a Boom HU setting, in my mind...
Not sure how reactive the MoCo will be to this request.
Will it be a flash requiring another visit to the dealer or would it be something we can DL and load ourselves?

IIRC there was a post about what I think you are calling sidetone. The post mentioned that some people preferred to hear themselves when they transmit with their CB radios. To get the sidetone (if I right in calling it that) they had to have the Intercom On. Just thought I mention this, maybe it might help.

A test video of a harness I made for the Sena SR10. I've done a bit of road testing with this lately and it's really solid for phone and CB functions in town and at highway speeds. Voice recognition is still kicking my butt though. I don't even bother over 55mph bc it just doesn't understand me. Granted I use an SPH10 which is one of the over the ear versions and other than the wind sock I get no wind blocking but not too different from the SMH10 as far as function. I have one of those too from an earlier build which is on a full face helmet now but it's summer so I haven't been rockin the helmet too much. I do notice that if I have my sena headset volume over half way I hear my voice like the sidetone even with sidetone disabled on the sena. I actually learned today that it could be coming from the Harley which has sidetone too but it's supposed to go away when intercom is off. My intercom is off but I still hear it when I used phone, CB, or voice commands. Not sure what that's all about really. Other party doesn't hear a thing so it's a pretty descent setup for mono audio.

That was another one of my posts for the Sena harness. I've tried turning intercom off with the previous version of the infotainment software and it made no difference on the sidetone. It was always there.

I still have one of those SMH10 harness' like Sierra electronics makes although I made mine to mount under the seat so you don't have to take the gas tank off to run wires. If anyone is looking to get their bike wired for a Bluetooth headset and would rather order domestic I will sell this for $100 to get rid of the last of my clutter from this Bluetooth endeavor. The Sena clamp alone that it uses is $40 so I got it priced real nice. For about another $80 you can find an SMH10-M01 module and be ready to go.
