I still have one of those SMH10 harness' like Sierra electronics makes although I made mine to mount under the seat so you don't have to take the gas tank off to run wires. If anyone is looking to get their bike wired for a Bluetooth headset and would rather order domestic I will sell this for $100 to get rid of the last of my clutter from this Bluetooth endeavor. The Sena clamp alone that it uses is $40 so I got it priced real nice. For about another $80 you can find an SMH10-M01 module and be ready to go.

Guess I should have read the post a little better. I was just taking a quick look at the results when I searched for "sidetone"

No worries. What we could all do is ask Harley to give us the option with their software bc even the wired headsets have it.

Posting some pics of my reconfigured power arrangement for my AKE device. I used the Harley kit # 71400105 for my streetglide which connects to the bike on the left side panel and includes the switch pack which allows me to power the Bluetooth device after startup. This way the bikes power is stabilized and the AKE device doesn't fault on start up. I've started it up several times over the past few days and it's connected every time with this setup.

Pics in order are; 1) the switch pack on my dash, 2) the accessory power cable connection on left side panel, and 3) AKE power cable connection under the seat (power wire only/no ground wire was used).

Looks great and glad that is working for ya. Gives me another excuse to bought those switches. Haha

Call me a geek but I was thinking of doing something as simple as a Time Delay Relay, SPDT 10 second delay. I think it would work ok.

Hey guys,
I connected to power using a new Harley Part # 69200921 - Fairing Power Extension Harness. $9.95. It is in the '15 Catalog pg. 731, but is not listed on the website for some reason. A cheap option. It is a simple Y harness. It connects to a 2 pin plug (+/-) to the right side (as your riding) of the radio and up high near the gauges. I had something already plugged into this connection on the bike. This Y harness allows me to keep that connected power and add this to the AKE. I clipped one of the black connector off of this harness ($10 bucks, who cares..) and used a butt connector on the + wire to the AKE. Will eventually solder that in.
I think I will use this power to connect my timed relay up and tuck the relay somewhere in the fairing itself. If I connect it to the Acc. Switch, then I'll forget to turn the dang AKE on/off each time before cranking up. (Literally have Brain damage from a previous bike accident, so yes I'll forget) The relay will take care of that automatically each time.

What was I talking about????

Neal,
This is where I had mine connected initially too. That connector is an amp/tyco multi-lock connector which you can get off eBay but crimping them are a PITA.

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=260876416123

I had issues with this spot on my streetglide because it would turn on when I flipped the ignition, then when I hit the starter it restarted and would fault about half the time. Your relay idea may do the trick. Will be looking for your feedback. I hadn't considered that and my impatience got the better of me. I spent the money on the more expensive setup with the auxiliary power switch pack. After installing it I realized I could have made my own minus the actual switches and saved close to $100 but, it connects every time now and no faults. Now I start the bike, turn on my Bluetooth headset, push the ACC power switch, and it all pairs up and is ready to go. If I forget to kill the power to the device before I turn the bike off I have to push that ACC button off when I turn the ignition on again before I go through the start up procedure but that's a quick recovery.

The problem with this thread is now I'm waffling on installing the SR10.

Seems like the AKE is a better solution.

I guess it's time for that software update now.
I was thinking about doing it that way or adding a power on time delay circuit to it.

ETA - Forget making a time delay, they can be had on ebay already.
