Default Big Sucker question

Sorry if this has been answered already, I didn't see anything by searching. My question is whether or not the back plate is really all that visible behind the stock cover? I wouldn't mind seeing some photos of those that have installed it. I'm really considering this intake, but can't decide which color to go with. Thanks...

We both have AN Big Suckers. I have the Kuryakyn Alley Cat Cover and the wife has the stock.

Nope, if you are looking at the one for the stock cover, you can't hardly see the backing plate.

Same set up with stock cover. You only see the backing plate when you look down at the side of the bike when your sitting on it or looking over the stock cover. But we spend more time on it and side of it so I got the chrome one.

Vernal I see you still have the throttle body support plate attached behind your air cleaner against the cylinder heads. That can be removed.

Gunny,
Check out the instruction sheet, Step 1 second sentence in bold. Some brands you do remove it but this model AN you don't.

My Bad, I've removed them from big suckers with no consequences. As you said, there it is in the instructions. I stopped using the Big Suckers since I seemed to get more oil residue on the pipes from them versus the SE one. The SE version has you remove that big chunk of metal as proper support to the throttle body is provided by the back piece of the Stage 1.
