What's going on with me is the windshield is deflecting the wind to about a inch below the top of my helmet. Around where the face shield ends and the top of the helmet begins.
The recurve sounds interesting, how many inches should I go higher then stock (10")? I can see clearly over the stock.
Thanks for the help everyone, I'm going to miss the evolution forum but I appreciate you guys taking me in with open arms.
Most dealers have demo windshields. There is a 10" clear recurve out now from the mo co. See if your dealer has one. Test ride it if they do. That will answer a lot of your questions.
Don't want to miss the obvious.... I own a 2014 FLHCTU and the main fairing vent when closed caused all kinds of head buffeting.
I opened the vent and discovered the buffeting went away.
Have you attempted to use the vent in regards to your buffeting issue?
I leave the vent open at all times. It does NOT blow a draft at you like the Road Glide. It actually send a stream of air up the inside of the windshield and guides the air over my head. I started riding in mid March and thought I wouldn't want that vent open due to it sending cold are at me. Once I opened it and stopped my buffeting issue I realized it didn't increase any wind blowing at me. I'm 5'6" so it may be different for you.
Thanks but I keep the vent open on the batwing. It does help but I would like to be able to keep open my face shield when it's hot out and have the air go above it. I contacted the dealer and I'm going to give the 10 inch with the recurve and I'll let you guys know.
I went with the Clearview XL with the re-curve, which is +2.25" over stock. I tried the Large +1.25" and was not tall enough. http://www.clearviewshields.com
If the one you already bought is to tall, you may be able to take it to a glass place and have it cut down. It cost me about $50 to have that done to my wife's bike.
Like JohnnyC stated, I never close the vent, or I get buffeting.
