Just received my order from Dennis Kirk, 2-Michelin Commander 2's for the rear. First thing I noticed was the deep tread in the center 11/32, that must be why they advertise twice the mileage. Took the wheel off and local shop charged $30 to mount the new tire. Tomorrow I hope to take a ride and see how it feels.
If anyone has a new Stock or Dunlop Elite I'd like to know what the tread depth is.
Thanks
first ride is a little different than the lops , kinda like being on ice but you'll get used to it real quick ,, I pulled over the first time to look everything over ,, just felt kinda weird to me.
I prefer MC II been using for few years very smooth ride for first few thousands miles feels like it's riding on the rails. Only con is front need to be replace at the same time as rear to have the best ride.
Got 16k on the stock Dunslops on my '14 limited. Changed to the Mich Commander 2's. I've got 38k on the clock now, that's 22k on tires so far, currently @ 3/32" front and rear. Gonna change them out at 40k. For sure will be getting another set of Commander 2's. Excellent wear (not chopped like the oem tires) great corning, and great wet traction IMHO.

Reason: Clarification
Found it on Dunlops site:
Stock 407 10/32
Elite 11/32
Just had a brand new one put on the bike, I got 9600 and could have pushed it to 9800 miles maybe , that's WOT and burnout miles by the way. But I and measured it when they rolled it out front, it's 9/32. A hair short it at that!
I have 17k on my cmd2 and front needs replacing do to server cupping. Followed recommended pressures. Found out late that these tires must be run close to max pressure not factory pressure. I am getting a new front cmd2 because I love the way they grip.
