Default Pulling wires on Ape's

I have read a few threads on pulling the wires through new apes. Can someone provide how hard/easy it was to pull wires through the KST 12" Mayhems? I have read some are fairly easy due to the internal build, size of bar, etc. It's my understanding I won't need to add any wire extensions as I just need to reroute somewhat.

I did a set of 12" reapers. Would not have to extend anything outside of the heated grips to get through the the bars.. But not enough wire from the bottom of the bars to reach. Can A. Get the name extensions for the signal controls, B. Get the complete wiring 48" extensions. Both work, but the complete comes with the TBW extensions. My suggestion I to just cut the green connector and solder it.. As I broke mine. I used the complete wiring, but broke a connector trying to force it and ended up using the extensions after all. Conduit wiring grease will ease the process. I used weed eating line and a few rolls of electrical tape. Take your time, get some beer. 15 mins to pull the bars.. Like 5 hours on run wires, 15 mins to button everything back up. Have fun! 😂😂

I used a piece of masons line, I just dropped it in the bars and used a shop vac to pull vacuum to pull the lin down. Then I taped the connectors to the line and pulled them through. I did put a little grease on the throttle side since it was harder to pull. Worked well, took about 30 minutes or so.

Get you about 3' of small but strong chain and drop it down the bars. Works very nicely.

You spray water into your bars, you're asking for rust. I'd never use water.

I pulled mine through 16's using a length of 16 gauge automotive wire electrical taped to the wire, then folded the opposite direction and taped a few more times to hold it good. If your bars have a sharp bend at the peak, you can bend a coathanger to help push the wiring in at the bend while gently pulling from the bottom. I'm replacing my 12" Namz control extensions with the 48" harness, along with a new CVO harness this year. Just waiting to get them in the mail. I didn't use any lube, but may this time to see if it makes a difference. But since I don't have any plugs to run internally anymore, I shouldn't need any help. It's all just wire now.

I just installed bars last sunday. The Road6Customs site has a video that helped me a lot with the wires.
1. Push a bit of string into the bars, use compressed air to blast it through. Quick and easy.
2. Graphite. I put some on the wires, then dumped some in the bars and shook it around.
Wires pulled through fairly easy.

I put 12 KST Mayhems on my 2015 SGS. It was kind of tough getting the right side wires through. I used mason line and a lot of electrical lube. Push and pull. I got 8 inch extensions for the wires to make it easier. You don't need any for the brake lines or clutch. Ride it and wrench it. On YouTube shows the whole process.

Just wired up my prime apes with the Namz 48" control harness. I found the easiest way to do it (now that I've wired 4 times on these style bars) is to feed some 16 gauge automotive wire looped and taped on the end into the bottom of the bars until just before it hits at the sharp peak. Bend a hook on a coathanger to reach in from the open bar end and grab the wire. Pull it out the control wire holes, tape it to your wiring, and just pull gently on the wire at the bottom while feeding the wires in at the top. No lube, no vacuum or compressed air needed, done in 20 minutes.
