Ok then I was led to believe that these motors wouldn't go that long...how long will they go with the proper maintenance before the big repairs start happening?
And to answer your question yes I've ridden the 103...I've put about 6500 miles on the 15' Limited since Oct of last year. Live in Louisiana so there is no riding season it's all the time. I've debated on doing a stage 4 kit, wanted to do stage 5 but they don't make it for the twin cooled, which is quite annoying
That was the beauty of many of the 1100cc jap bikes back in the day. Add a pipe, sprockets, jet kit, & remove stock air box in favor of K&N filters. Mid to low 10's for those who could really race, and North of 175 mph top end. Now guys run air shifter's along with turbo's AND nitrous on these new, already super fast Hyabusa's, ZX14's,etc....thats just sick fast!
I had a Suzuki 750 water buffalo that would do 145 150 off the show room floor. Had a 900 Kaw that was even faster. My God I shudder now at some of the really really stupid **** we used to do.
One of the guys I grew up with, we all had bikes, killed himself on a crotch rocket later. I think he was probably like 38 years old or so when it happened. All of used to say that he was gonna kill himself one day. He could not get on a bike without just running it full out. He was riding with some other guys I know. They said he took off from a stop sign at the bottom of this long uphill grade (3/4 mile or so) that the top of the hill crested then fell off a bit and then rose again. My Mother of all people had pulled off to the side of the road to talk to this guys Aunt, Mom and her were best friends. He topped that hill and went air born, they estimated he was doing 160 mph or so. Mind you it is like at least an 1/8th of a mile from where he went air born. The bike they thought landed 10 or 15 feet behind my Mom's 1989 Chevy suburban. The truck had a welded on reese hitch. He hit that Suburban so hard they totaled it. He collapsed that hitch and bent the frame on the truck beyond repair. He was dead instantly.
