I'm going to do a basic stage 1 on my bike. So far it's the HD stage 1 air cleaner and a Fuel Moto Micro tuner. I can't seem to decide on the mufflers though. I'd like a little better sound, don't mind a little louder on acceleration, but don't want really loud pipes, especially at cruising speeds. The rest of the exhaust is staying stock. I've searched and searched, and listened to every Youtube video I can find.
The list so far :
SE Thunder Street 3.5"
V&H Twin Slash round 4"
Jackpot 3.5' or 4"
Any other suggestions would be appreciated (all chrome only). This is all that's holding up my order.
Have you looked into RC Components? Cycle Solutions has videos on you tube with dyno runs with several different mufflers and the RCX-haust mufflers performed the best.

I put the Vance and Hines Street Cannons on my bike and love the mellow but throaty tone to them. There quiet at cruising speed, but when you twist the throttle they "Bark".....good luck with your decision.
I have the V&H twin slash rounds.... love 'em. Just the right amount of sound, and quiet at cruising speeds.

V&H Street Canons? Must be a new muffler.......???
I had the V&H Monster Ovals on my old RGU and loved them, perfect sound ... nice deep tone without being obnoxious. They looked as good as they sound too and go better with the shape of the saddlebags than round mufflers. Even with the Power Duals I had they still weren't over-bearing.
Like you, I didn't want super loud pipes. I went with the Screamin' Eagle Street Cannons and love them. Relatively quiet, but give you a little noise with acceleration. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have louder pipes, but I don't want to tax my ear drums on long rides or drown out the stereo for that matter.
I went with 4" Rineharts on recommendation from one of the best dyno guys in the country. I hated the 3.5" Rineharts. They had a high pitch note that really bothered me but these 4" are just right. Nice low sound. Bark a little when you get on it and quiet down very nicely at cruise and still set off the occasional car alarm
