Default SERT question

I know this is asked a lot, but let's throw a twist in the mix. I had a 2014 Limited with a 103, now a 2016 Tri-Glide with that "same" 103..... since the ECM is the same as everything else but those back 2 wheels..... I'm thinking the SERT should work on the 2016 also.

Anyone have any different thoughts?

SERT and SEPST are married to the bike, I dont think you can use it on another one.

I am thinking any SE tuner are married to one Bike Only, be it S-E Pro Super Tuner or a
S-E Street Performance Tuner.

SERT or SEPST are married to the Bikes VIN# they cannot be used on another bike, unless you can prove to HD Corporate the bike was totaled, stolen or burnt in a fire, it has to be a total loss.

I went through flaming hoops when a 2012 SG was totaled and I had just bought and flashed the bike 3 days before it was totaled, took a little over 3 months, had to send the tuner to the MOCO and they had to have it unlocked to work with my new bike.

Are all tuners married to one Bike? Seems that would be a standard for tuner sellers?

Also the Tri Glide is way more fun than people think. I have had mine for two years and This extra wheel Rocks!

I put an FP3 tuner on mine and it is excellent !

TTS MasterTune Turner is a MUCH better tuner period!

One can buy one and opt for it to tune TWO bikes.

Does cost a little bit more, but cheaper then buying two turners.

Good luck & Congrats on your new purchase.

Pretty much all tuners are like that.
They pick up the bikes VIN when first used, so you can not use that tuner on another bike.

They do this to keep you from buying one tuner, and then tuning all of your buddies bikes too.

Some (not sure about the SERT) will allow you to move to another bike if you tune the first vehicle back to stock.
The process stores the factory tune (with VIN) on the tuner, and then flashes the custom tune to the vehicle.
If you move the factory tune back to the bike, the tuner is then free to "custom tune" another bike.

What I want to know is why the OP wants to use another bikes tuner on his new one.. Doesn't the new one come with its own already?? My SG came with its tuner.. If I bought another SG from the dealer (I can dream) wouldn't that come with its own, too?

Nope, tuners are not factory stock items.
