Default Sliding Tourpack Idea

I am thinking about designing and fabbing a sliding Tourpack bracket that can be be used in conjunction with the removable Tourpack bracket. I am wanting ideas on safety considerations, travel distance, fab ideas, etc. I have an idea in mind already but I am sure there will be interest here once prototype is functional and tested safe. I look forward to your costructive input. BTW, this will be for 2014 Limited's specifically, but I am sure can be used on other king tour packs as well.

Keep as low as possible, I wouldn't like it if it sat high...

I bought the Kury ones that I moved the TP back 3" and it works great. The only thing that you have to remember is the further you go back and load the tp the lighter the front end gets. Like I said I have mine back 3" from stock and have it on the back setting of the stock relocation. This weekend I went on a trip and had the tourpak bag loaded and a bag on the rack and could feel that the front end was a little lighter than normal but mama was comfy and you know what that means.

I think the op is referring to a sliding rack like Legends made for 13 down bikes. The trunk slides from 2 up to solo.

I would love one, but Legends has not even begun working on one for 14 up. I'm a buyer if you get one built. I thought about trying to build one, but I'm a wood butcher, not steel savvy.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have narrowed the slide mechanism to a few choices and am working on the final plan for the brackets. Should hopefully have something soon to test. Will keep posting progress. Keep them coming

Heavy duty drawer slides between the mount and the tour pack, with some sort of locking mechanism. Locking on both sides to even out the stress. You can get the drawer slides from HomeLoweNards, but they aren't meant for outdoor use unless you get them from $omeplace that $ells Boat$. They will add about 3/8" height. Rustoleum and lithium grease.

Make sure that the wiring is long enough. Good luck!

I'm chasing down a couple of suppliers. One for UtiliTrack linear guides with carriages filled with bearings and guide wheels. Apparently available are brake mechanisms that pinch against the track. Second idea was to get my hands on a marine seat slider with 6 inches of travel and a tension stud/handle to lock it from going forward and aft once the passenger decided on their best comfort position. Those Kury units look like and obviously will do the trick. However at &303.00 kinda pricey for me.
