This is why we have forums to let everyone know about simple fixes like these.

Right? I mean are you guys that weak?

My front plug wire is chaffed. I noticed it after reading about it in the forums. Someday will bring it to the dealer and get it replaced under warranty.

Does the tank have to be removed to see the damage? Or can it be fixed without removing the tank?

Depends on what you mean by "fixed". If you mean zip-tied to keep it from rubbing, no tank removal. If you mean replacing it and securing it properly, tank removal or loosening it and propping it up.

Thanks. Already looked at it. Can be fixed without removing tank. Mine has 2700 miles on it, not a problem yet. But it could be. This is why it good to read the forum once in awhile.

My 2015 just turned 20,000 and I never noticed the wear, but it is there. Black fuel tubing split and zip tied is just too easy a fix. I'm all about the KISS plan. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
Good for another 100K now.

Honestly it isn't the fixing, it's just paying attention. I figure once you had the dealer fix it you took a peek to check that the wire is safely off the tank am I right? You don't just leave the dealer in condition white, head in the clouds assuming everything is dandy.

Obviously there are reasonable limits. If you had your transmission rebuilt by the dealer I don't expect someone to be checking countershaft end play. But for things like this, you can just as easily check to confirm it's fixed as you can confirm you have the issue in the first place, so there's no excuse for leaving the dealer without it fixed.

Lol I guess I still can't get over that guy running on low brake fluid for 25,000 miles. I mean come on, there's a ****ing sight window!

Anyway, I can confirm that bending the plug wire terminal some more does get the wire well off the tank. I've got split loom on there anyway but it probably isn't necessary.
