Talked to a tech at my local HD and he said all of the new kits have been coming with the new antenna. Doesn't mean though that there aren't some out there in old inventory with the old antenna.

Good deal. I do know it is larger, but I don't have any pics. It resolved issues on mine that I thought would be unrelated. My XM module would randomly reboot, and had the occasional pops & hisses that required a bike shutdown for several minutes to clear up. Have had no issues whatsoever since the antenna was replaced with the upgraded one.

Does anyone know if the part # for the new antenna is stamped on it? As I mentioned I have a new unit sitting at home and I'd like to check and make sure I have the new antenna...thanks!

Has anyone who had the original xm antenna and now has the so called updated "A" version really noticed any benefit?

I wonder if this:
Amazon.com: SiriusXM NGVA1 Magnetic Antenna Mount for Your Vehicle: Car Electronics Amazon.com: SiriusXM NGVA1 Magnetic Antenna Mount for Your Vehicle: Car Electronics
is compatible with the HD 76000221A? If so one could just cut the length of the cable and splice it to the required length, since it is 23 feet long.

Well, if you have warranty, it can be replaced for free

I had the XM installed right after I bought my Limited so it was covered under the two year factory warranty. Told the dealership the issues I was going through and they replaced the antenna under warranty.

Yes. I have a warranty, however, I added the XM module sometime later. The antenna works, but I am always interested in something better
