Installed the XM module last night, pretty straightforward. Only thing I got hung up on was directions saying to remove the cover over the contact pins, after looking, pulling, prying I realized mine had no cover, just slid straight in. Took a few minutes extra and placed the antenna on the top outside of the fairing behind the windscreen, filed out a little notch for the wire to fit into. Powered up and had the preview channel, all good. This morning tried to subscribe for the free 3 months, spent an hour on hold, hung up and tried another number, on hold again, 256 minute wait time. I went online, signed in with my email and password, followed the instructions to activate a new radio, automatically said I was entitled to 3 free months WITH traffic, weather, weather forecast and one other thing. They asked if I wanted just the trial period or trial and a subscription, clicked trial and they sent a signal to my radio, 10 minutes later I was good to go. Took a one hour ride through a heavily wooded (trees) area of Long Island and had 2 and 3 bars most of the time, only lost the signal one time going under an overpass, it came right back. So far so good...and it seems they got the internet thing down better then dealing with Pakistan or India, might be the way to go!
