Default another CornerStone (boardtracker) ESP Question

I've been reading the contract that Jim has posted online because I am thinking of buying this. I came across these words "Replacement parts may be New, Re-manufactured, Independently manufactured, or of like kind and quality at the discretion of the administrator".

Has anyone had anything other than genuine HD parts installed? Does the HD CNA ESP only use HD parts? I think this is important. Am I being too picky?

Theres a reason why aftermarket ESP contracts are cheaper than Moco's ESP.

I am one of the most picky persons on earth. I think you are being too picky.
Its a contract, to balance it out, read the HD CNA policy, bet you will find the same thing. If your bike breaks, they are going to fix it in the same way anyone else will, you too, will have a say.

The only reason the MOCO is vastly more expensive is Harleys stockholders have to make a profit along with the the ins company that has to make a profit.

Harleys extended warranty IS an aftermarket warranty. By this company, instead of Cornerstone ... https://www.cnanational.com/cportal/web/guest/home

Here you go, right from the Harley playbook.

"Replacement parts may be of like kind and quality when available and as deemed necessary by OUR ADMINISTRATOR."

Ps, if you notice, its not easy to see a copy of HDs contract unless you go to a dealer. hmmm ...

I could not find the exact words as indicated by the OP but then again, when you view or download the contract it appears to be a snapshot - there isn't a way to search text so you have to read through the whole thing. I may have missed it.

But, as I was looking through the Cornerstone contract I found this:

"Replacement shall be made with genuine new or rebuilt parts, when possible"

Then I asked Jim Palmer about the use of other non-OEM parts and his response was that those contracts also have similar verbiage for coverage on vehicles besides Harley motorcycles. In some cases OEM parts aren't available. And this could be the case when taking a Polaris to some place for repair. Maybe they use "other" parts?

When you view the claim procedure it states:

"Return the vehicle to any authorized dealer or state licensed repair facility..."

Is the quote provided by the OP suggesting that HD dealers are in the habit of using aftermarket parts? I don't think that is the case at the dealer I go to. And I'm pretty sure I'll always take mine to the HD shop.

My ESP contract through Harley says it will be repaired only with Genuine Harley Davidson parts. It doesn't seem to specific new or rebuilt; but it does say they won't be generic third party parts.

The generic third party manufacturer is probably the same manufacturer that makes the part for Harley and stamps HD on it. I probably would take an American made aftermarket part over a Chinese made HD part any day. If that is possible to find such a thing.

HD ESP on every bike since 05 and they always take care of with HD parts and sometimes even upgraded since the old was obsolete ( which really means it was POS). Every bike I sold or traded in I cashed out the remainder of the left over ESP contract.
