One thing anyone considering purchasing these has to keep in mind is that they are huge. They are not just replacement caps. They are about the size of the reflectors that you use to secure your license plate with. No wonder these things are breaking valve stems. I am sending mine back to Amazon. No way am I going to be running these big ugly things and risk messing something up. I'm going back to checking my pressure once a month.

Same here. Not that I think the concept is a bad one. It's the execution I'm not crazy about. Regardless, with the current level of technology, I would be worried the weight of the things, even in the rim, would mess with the wheel's balance. I can't speak with authority on that. Just a theory.

Regardless, they are worthless (or worse) as regards sudden air pressure loss. And as far as simple low tire pressure, I wouldn't trust anything other than a gauge anyway. So I guess I'm not so interested.

And on my cars they're more of a pita than anything. Especially because I run winter tires on steel wheels.

I like TPMS, i think it is a safety check, because i also think that many riders don't check their air pressure often enough. HD added TPMS to the 2016 CVO's, but they don't have a big valve cap on them. They caps look normal size. So it can be designed differently.

I never bought them because i didn't like the look, way too big etc.

I do have steel/chrome valve stems, and i do check my air pretty regularly. I was hoping that HD would do something at a reasonable price, if not i'll do what i've been doing since 1964.

Someone, or everyone who purchased these FOBO's should email the company about the safety hazard and maybe they will send you the T valve for free, they should.

I just HATE pulling the bag off and crawl on my knees on the garage floor to check tire pressure. I like these for that alone. Just rode 300 miles to the western side of Colorado pulling my pop up camper trailer designed for motorcycles. I get very paranoid every time I feel something odd(usually wind) I use the fobo car plus system on my bike and trailer and it gives me GREAT piece of mind to be able to glance at my phone mounted to my bars with the fobo app running on the screen the whole time and know it's not one of the tires going lie. I have steel valve stems on all 4 wheels.

Unless you have extended bags, you should be able to check pressure without removing them. I roll the bike so the stem is between 5 and 6 o'clock. It's awkward, and like you said, done from the hands and knees, but fairly quick and most importantly, accurate (if you use a decent gauge which you should).

We have the FOBO system on my wife's deluxe. She has steel valve stems and tube tires. On our recent 3500 mile trip she got a warning of low pressure on her rear tire, we pulled over and sure enough only 11lbs of pressure. She didn't notice any difference in the way the bike handled and the tire didn't even look low. We filled the tire and about 3 hours later again got a low pressure warning. Checked again and down to 12lbs. Next day we had the tire pulled at a Harley dealer and discovered a paper clip inside the tire had punctured the tube. Yes a paper clip was left in the tire by Asheville HD who changed the tire on our last road trip last summer. Far as I'm concerned the FOBO is money well spent. I'll be adding to my 16 Road King when I change tires and install metal valve stems.

I have the Steelmate TP90 on both bikes.

No way I would ever consider using rubber stems,
and I don't like the tee stems either, too easy to just unscrew the sensor and add air, which doesn't happen very often.
I use these, short and cheap, the price almost scared me, but I have no problems with them.

Steelmate here too. I had the FOBOs, and it worked well, but I don't leave my phone mounted on the bars so had no audible or visible indicator while riding.

Yes they are large but they only weigh grams. About the weight if a couple of the squares of wheel weights. Metal value stems are a must but they work great.
