Default Downshifting problems

I am having an issue with downshifting. I have a 2016 Limited and just had the 1000 mile service done. I had the dealership put Syn3 in. I usually use the engine braking technique and everything works fine, however, every once in awhile I will keep the clutch in and shift all the way to first. The shift lever moves and shifts down one gear but won't shift any further. When I come to a stop I can shift down to first. This issue didn't exist prior to the service. I checked the fluid level and it is good. During the service they also changed the shift levers and linkage. This seems like it could be dangerous in an emergency braking situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

How fast you going when you shift all the way down to first. One gear at a time until RPMs come down.

Take it back. It's not adjusted correctly. Emergency/rapid stop technique as taught by MSF has you go all the way down rapidly so as to be in 1st when you get stopped or slow enough to swerve. Sounds like it's under a bind.

Since you stated they changed the shift lever and linkage, could it be the lever is in a slightly different position and your not letting lever return so shift pawl can select next lower gear?

It was the shift rod. I compared the new one to the stock one and the new one was almost an inch longer. I corrected it and the issue has been solved. Thanks for the advice.
